Office Support Staff / Funeral Attendant
Position Overview
Maberry Funeral Home is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional individual to join our team as a full-time Office Support Staff / Funeral Attendant.
This position supports daily office operations, assisting families with care and respect, and helping ensure funeral services and other activities run smoothly.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet and assist families, visitors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Answer phones, take messages, schedule appointments, and provide general office support.
- Assist with funeral services, visitations, memorial services, and graveside services as needed.
- Prepare service areas by arranging flowers, placing signage, setting out service
materials, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
- Assist with obituaries, memorial folders, photo slideshows, filing, data entry, mailings, and other funeral-service paperwork.
- Direct guests and assist with parking, seating, and service flow.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Assist with removals from homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and other locations as needed.
- Perform additional duties necessary to support funeral home operations
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A professional appearance and a warm, compassionate demeanor.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
- The ability to interact respectfully with grieving families.
- Dependability, punctuality, attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry.
- The physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and prepare service areas, and assist with the lifting and transfer of deceased individuals.
- Previous experience in a funeral home, office, hospitality, or customer-service setting is preferred.
- Must have an insurable driving record.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The position also requires:
- Rotating weekend availability
- Night on-call availability as needed
- Flexibility based on funeral-service schedules and operational needs
