Payment Policy

Our funeral home is a small business and like many others in the community, out of necessity, we operate on a cash basis, relying upon the families we serve for prompt payment. We do not have sufficient financial resources to extend credit over a period of months or years, nor does law allow us to fulfill the functions of a bank or other lending institution. Therefore we ask that all services must have financial arrangements for payment complete before any public announcement of funeral arrangements is made.

For your benefit and complete understanding of how funeral accounts are to be paid, we would like to provide you with this copy of our payment policy. We encourage your frank discussion of these matters with your funeral director, and we will attempt to assist you in any way possible.

Payment Options

The following payment options are available to you in settling your account.

Option 1

Payment in full by cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard upon completion of the arrangement conference.

A savings of 2% on the Services and Merchandise selected that Maberry funeral home provides will be given to those families that choose this option.

Option 2

We will honor an insurance assignment which be processed upon completion of the arrangement conference. We will need an original or copy of the insurance policy, an original death certificate, and an assignment that will be accepted by the insurance company. Any charges not covered by the policy will need to be addressed at the arrangement conference.

Option 3

We will honor pre-arranged funeral insurance which has Maberry Funeral Home, Inc. as the primary beneficiary.

*Out of town purchasers must pay in full at time of the arrangement conference or have a Virginia resident also sign the Statement of Funeral Goods and Services Selected.*

The person signing the Statement of Goods and Services at the time of arrangements will be responsible for all costs related to any collection of the account including attorney’s fees in the amount of thirty-three and one-third percent (33.3%) of the outstanding balance at the time a collection attorney contacts you, which you hereby agree is reasonable. You further agree to pay interest at the rate of one and one-half percent (1 1⁄2%) per month on any amount due Maberry Funeral Home, Inc., which remains unpaid thirty (30) days after its due date.

We at Maberry Funeral Home are here to help you in the most difficult time. No matter what type of services you select for your loved one, we are committed to providing the highest level of service to you and your family. If there is anything that you are unsure of or would like to clarify regarding the financial obligations of the services you have selected, please do not hesitate to discuss this matter with us. WE desire for you to feel comfortable and clear as to the services you have chosen, and the financial obligation that comes with these services.
