Rheba Akers Alley, 98, of Floyd, the widow of Eddie Alley, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 12, 2008. She was born on November 15, 1909 to the late James and Laura Akers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Ray Alley and her grandson, Kevin Turpin, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by Daughter Thelma Eisenlohr of Willis, 2 Granddaughters: Mary Ann Webb of Willis, and Glenna Vest and husband Darrell of Floyd, 4 Great Grandchildren: Stephanie Weeks and husband Trey of Blacksburg, Justin Vest and wife Iris of Copper Hill, Eric Webb of Riner, and Lance Vest of Floyd, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren: Michael Webb of Floyd and Addison Vest of Copper Hill, and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday September 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Pugh and Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Maberry Funeral Home.
